Deacon Sheepfolds
A caring connection for every member of Zion Baptist Church
I am the good shepherd and I know My sheep and am known by My own.
At Zion Baptist Church, every member is connected to a Deacon through what we call a Sheepfold. A sheepfold is a spiritual care group, a smaller church family within the larger church family, where members are known, prayed for, and supported in their Christian walk.
This approach reflects the biblical picture of Jesus as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and watches over them with love and care. In the same spirit, Zion Deacons serve as spiritual caregivers, helping members stay connected, grow in faith, and receive encouragement in every season of life.
Each Sheepfold is identified by a unique color and scripture theme that highlights an aspect of Christian life such as growth, love, repentance, baptism, redemption, and identity in Christ. The whole church worships together, and the Sheepfold helps ensure every member is supported and never feels alone.
