Scriptures for the Week

(All scriptures are from the New King James Version [NKJV])

Proverbs 3:5–6

(NKJV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Mark 11:24

(NKJV)
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Matthew 17:20

(NKJV)
For assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Hebrews 11:6

(NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Daniel 10:12

(NKJV)
Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.”

Reflection

Faith calls us to trust God beyond what we can see, understand, or accomplish in our own strength. Proverbs reminds us not to depend solely on our own understanding, but to acknowledge the Lord and trust Him to direct our paths. Jesus teaches us to pray believing, showing us that genuine faith approaches God with confidence in His power and faithfulness. Even faith as small as a mustard seed can confront what appears to be an immovable mountain when that faith is placed in God. Hebrews reminds us that faith is essential to our relationship with Him, because those who seek Him must believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Daniel's experience also shows us that God hears the prayers of those who earnestly seek Him, even when the answer is not immediately visible. As we pray this week, let us trust God wholeheartedly, pray with expectation, and remain steadfast in faith, knowing that He hears us and is able to move in ways far beyond what we can accomplish on our own.
